Gibbon, "Land of Thirst" is a sweeping romantic epic
of forbidden love set against the majestic backdrop
of Africa at the start of the 20th century. Margaret,
a beautiful young English woman, comes to the fresh
African climate to treat her consumption and there
falls in love with a handsome, African doctor, Khanyiso
Phalo. But at the height of racist Colonial rule,
such love can never be allowed to flourish. Made for
